iGive Global is all about helping women entrepreneurs in difficult places have the capital to grow their businesses through our small loan and support services.
Our vision is to provide more small loans, and the benefit is that with this method the funds donated keep on giving.
As each loan is repaid by the women with monthly repayments, we are able to reinvest that same money in a new loan to a new loan recipient.
What is the Crossing a Volcano 20KM Race Fundaiser?
As a lifelong endurance athlete Mike has always been involved in races and endurance challenges.
He’s run a marathon in Northern Iraq and completed an Ironman 70.3 as previous iGive Global fundraisers and now he has set his sites on a new challenge, the UTMB 20K train race in Quito, Ecuador.
The race is Saturday, August 2, 2025, and starts in a small village outside of Quito, called Lloa.
The race then climbs a trail to near the top of the Pichincha Volcano at over 11,500 ft in elevation and then descends on the other side.
The finish is in the heart of Quito’s famous historic district at Plaza de San Francisco.
Mike’s goal is to get donation sponsorships for each kilometer of the race to collectively help him raise $2,500 for more new loans.
$2,500 goal!
With loan amounts ranging from $200-$800 on average, the $2,500 will help iGive Global be able to offer 3-8 more loans.
The beauty of this small loan program is that the loans are repaid over time and then those same funds are used again in new loans.
So your gift keeps on giving!
Yes, the race will be a challenge to complete. There is a 5 hour maximum time period to finish and terrain will have technical challenges not to mention the altitude challenge.

Who Benefits from the Funds?

Many of you are parents and you know the underlying stress of worrying about providing for your family. Will there be enough? How can I provide the best for them?
Now think about being a single parent, and a female in a male dominant society. Add to that not having access to a regular, steady paycheck or if trying to get a business loan the rates for the loan are 10-15%. Not easy and not something that helps you sleep well at night.
That’s the life of many in less developed countries around the world including Ecuador. Now think about your children or grandchildren, and wanting them to get a good education and have basic healthcare. Wouldn’t you want that for your children and grands? Wouldn’t any parent?
That’s where iGive Global comes in and enables women in difficult locations, like Alisson, who already have a business and have a vision for how it can grow and better supply the needs of their family to get the small loan they need to care for their families.
And with repayment rates of 99%, your gift keeps on giving!
The ask is simple…
Will you help?
Many of you have the means that a gift of $25 or $50 won’t impact your monthly budget at all. It simply may mean you don’t buy that outfit this month or you have one less meal out..but think about the difference…Helping a single-mother buy 2 more cows that can add so much more income to provide for her family!
It can mean helping the mother buy a new stove to help her small baking operation scale to sell more baked goods.
It can mean helping a young store owner buy more goods to resell. Or a small restaurant owner can create a new outdoor space with tables and chairs to allow more people to come and eat there.
Join Mike as he runs nearly 13 miles up, crossing a volcano, and down into Quito with the goal of bringing attention and generating funds to help more women in need.
