As I sit here in Ecuador, witnessing firsthand the transformative power of micro-lending, I’m filled with a sense of purpose and excitement about what we’re achieving at iGive Global. Our second quarter results have reinforced what we’ve always believed – when you invest in women entrepreneurs, you invest in entire communities.
The Power of Returned Kindness
One of the most beautiful aspects of our micro-loan program is watching the cycle of giving come full circle. This past quarter, we’ve celebrated over $500 in loan repayments – a testament to the success and dedication of our entrepreneurs. These repayments have enabled us to fund four new female entrepreneurs in Ecuador, expanding our reach and impact in communities that need it most.
Stories of Transformation: Meet Alisson
Among our success stories, Alisson’s journey (pictured above) particularly stands out. As a single mother, her determination to create a better life for her young son has been nothing short of inspiring. What started with a single calf has blossomed into a thriving dairy and beef cattle operation. Through our micro-loan program, Alisson has recently acquired two heifers and livestock feed, strategic investments that will help her expand her herd and increase her income potential.
Her story embodies everything we stand for at iGive Global – resilience, entrepreneurship, and the transformative power of targeted support. As someone who has experienced both business success and failure, I understand that sometimes all it takes is one person believing in your vision to change everything.
New Horizons in the Amazon
I’m thrilled to share that we’re exploring an exciting new partnership in the Ecuadorian Amazon region. This collaboration would connect us with local professionals who share our vision for community development. Their integrated approach includes innovative projects like developing products from native plants, expanding microfinance opportunities for growing businesses, and implementing sustainability initiatives to protect the region’s rich cultural and natural heritage.
This potential partnership perfectly aligns with our holistic approach to community development. As someone with extensive cross-cultural experience and a background in organizational development, I’m particularly excited about how this collaboration could deepen our impact in the unique cultural and biodiverse region.
A Unique Fundraising Adventure
Speaking of exciting developments, mark your calendars for August 2nd! Our very own Mike will be taking on an extraordinary challenge – a 20KM trail race fundraiser near Quito that’s as ambitious as our mission. Starting from a small village outside Quito, Mike will run up and over a volcano at more than 11,500 ft elevation, finishing in the historic heart of Quito. Soon, you’ll have the opportunity to sponsor kilometers of his journey, quite literally helping us go the extra mile for our entrepreneurs!

The Body-Mind Connection in Entrepreneurship
As a wellness coach with a deep understanding of nervous system regulation and somatic practices, I’ve observed how financial stress impacts every aspect of our entrepreneurs’ lives. This is why our approach goes beyond just providing loans. We believe in supporting the whole person – mind, body, and spirit – as they navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship.
A Call to Action
The success we’ve seen this quarter – from loan repayments to new partnerships and Alisson’s growing cattle business – proves that our model works. But we can do more. We must do more.
If you’re feeling moved to action, here’s how you can get involved:
- Support our micro-loan program with a one-time or recurring donation
- Stay tuned for details about sponsoring kilometers in Mike’s upcoming trail run
- Share your professional expertise through our mentorship program
- Help us spread the word about our mission and impact

Looking Ahead
As we prepare for Mike’s trail run and explore new partnerships in the Amazon region, I’m reminded that every journey – whether it’s running over a volcano or building a cattle business – begins with a single step. At iGive Global, we’re honored to take these steps alongside remarkable women like Alisson around the world and here in Ecuador, watching as their individual successes create ripples of positive change throughout their communities.
Together, we’re not just providing loans; we’re fostering hope, building resilience, and creating sustainable pathways out of poverty. Join us in this mission to empower, uplift, and transform lives through the power of micro-loans and community support.
Stay tuned for more updates about our Ecuador Amazon region partnership and Mike’s upcoming trail run. The adventure continues, and we’d love to have you be part of it!
